ANOTHER TIME
COMMON GROUND
For thirty-five years, Isabel had travelled in her imagination to Georgia O’Keeffe’s world. To the rooms, the desert, the light. In 2025, that imagined journey became real.
At the invitation of Giustina Renzoni, Director of Historic Properties at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum Miquel Arqués was granted exceptional private access to O’Keeffe’s homes and studios at Ghost Ranch and Abiquiú, as well as the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum Archives in Santa Fe.
Rather than documenting O’Keeffe’s life or reproducing her work, Miquel Arqués uses O’Keeffe’s letters and words as a point of departure for her own photographic response to the landscapes, objects, architecture and material world that surrounded her. A dialogue started.

ISABEL MIQUEL ARQUÉS
Born in Lleida (Spain), at home in Antwerp (Belgium). Isabel Miquel Arqués tells stories through photography, text and screen printing. Her work makes room for fragility, tactility and imperfection.
In the Beyond Borders trilogy, she enters into a visual dialogue with three women who helped shape her artistic world: Karen Blixen, Virginia Woolf and Georgia O’Keeffe. Three encounters.
